Marina Squerciati was born on April 30, 1984 in New York City, New York, USA. She attended Northwestern University where she finished a degree in theater. She made her screen debut in 2009, making her first film appearance in It’s Complicated. At the same time, she also made her TV debut in an episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. She went on to make one-episode roles in The Good Wife, Damages, and Blue Bloods.

Her first recurring role on the small screen was as Alessandra Steele in The CW series Gossip Girl. She got her main break on television after landing the role of Kim Burgess in the TV series Chicago P.D. She has been playing the said role since 2014. She’s also since played the same role in Chicago Fire. She simultaneously appeared in the movies A Walk Among the Tombstones and Marshall.
